Cadel Evans sejrede i førertrøjen

To ryttere prægede dagens etape i Tirreno-Adriatico, som blev kørt over 188 kilometer. Det var Borut Bozic (Vacansoleil) og Bert Grabsch (HTC-Highroad), som kom afsted og først blev hentet med godt 15 km tilbage.
På etapens sidste stigning var ex-verdensmesteren, Cadel Evans (BMC Racing Team), hurtigst, mens Giovanni Visconti (Farnese Vini – Neri Sottoli) og Michele Scarponi (Lampre – ISD) tog de efterfølgende pladser.
